Hello, my name is Mei-Mei, and I'm an Angel
But actually my name means; "Little Sister", in Chinese
I'm such a good little sister too.
I've always been!
Everyone says I'm sweet
As sweet as Tupelo honey
I'm an Angel, in the first degree.



I've always been called an Angel by everyone who met me.
I've always been good, kind, and love saying hi to everyone I meet.
I've always been such a good girly pei. and my goodness, the
things that I've achieved by the age of 4. Just wonderful!
I have so many friends. I've had so many laughs!



Did you know I even earned titles?
Like Therapy Dog? Like Canine Good Citizen?
I did Search & Rescue too. I am the perfect Chinese Shar-Pei.
A very scholarly one too.
Goodness, gracious, I've done so many things!
There's no one anywhere quite like me.
I just always do everything right.



Somewhere deep down though, I always knew my earth time
was going to be a short one. Everyone around me felt it too.
They knew I was special, and that I was here with them for special moments.
I tried to have as much fun as possible while I was there,
I tried to give love and be loved as much as possible.
Every time, all the time. Everyone loves me. Everyone says I'm so special.


The earth body I was given wasn't such a good one.
It just didn't last as long as it should have, no matter how hard we tried.
It should have lasted for at least 10? 12? 13? 14 years?
It only lasted for a short 5 years.
I can't remember ever not having to take pills for something.
I've been taking them forever it seems.




My earth body made things very difficult for me, especially lately.
I wasn't able to do so many things, my smile went away and my world became a sad one.
I hurt everywhere, my own skin didn't want to stay with me anymore.
I could no longer run with my friends, or walk with my Mom or terrorize Merlin.
I couldn't get up to eat or lay down to sleep. I couldn't turn over or hardly breathe anymore.
Everyone comes over to help me, the family, the neighbours, the friends, in the day and in the night.
They tried everything to keep me comfortable. Less and less was working. Finally nothing was working.
My cries of pain broke so many hearts. Everyone around me feels so helpless.



This is all no good. I needed a change.
I've asked little Munchkin to stand in my stead.
She's got all the right stuff to look after my big brother Merlin until we meet again.
I'm comfortable with her in charge. Why, she's even been looking after me lately.
Please treat her with the same love and respect that you all have given to me.


I 've moved on you see. I had to. It was the right thing to do.
I have a brand new body. It's so grand!
I am such a happy girl again. I'm smiling, playing. jumping and running again,
I am chasing the birds and hunting for frogs.
I am crouched here waiting for some silly un-suspecting kitty to wander by...
... and now I'm allowed to hunt kitties!
I am busy digging for worms and searching for bugs to play with.
I have such busy filled days now.
I can do all kinds of things again.





Please don't fret for me.
Please don't worry for me.
Stand up! Don't you feel me gently blowing through your hair?
I am the warm bright, sun shining on your beautiful face.
Look up! Do you see me? I'm the brightest star in the night time sky!
Look down at your toes, I am the early morning dew.

I am still everywhere all around you.

It was late last night when I walked with our Chows. Looking up in the sky...there I saw a wonderful twinkling star.

I lost Rylee to Cushings...I was so confused and hurt and shaken by it I thought I would never stop crying...then I looked around at the love my other chows shared with me and I saw my friends supporting me through the grief and although it doesn't change how our hearts are broken, it does cushion the soul...
